A business is the same as a city. It can vary from a small city to a medium size one. The only difference is a building or business has a vertical challenge instead of a city's horizontal challenges. The problems are similar in both. In a business, getting the tenants to safety takes planning and preparedness. In a business the private sector attempts to keep safety and preparedness on everyone's mind. Through the use of Fire and Life Safety training and safety security meetings and in conjunction with Ready Colorado Business Outreach program, the private sector preaches preparedness on a regular basis. Floor warden teams trained in fire evacuation and Community Emergency Response (CERT) trained employees plan and assist to train other employees for all-hazard problems, including having "Go Bags" or emergency kits at their workplace station to "B.Ready." The business sector also trains and engages the public sector in training and use of buildings for major drills and practices. Get involved in both your community and your workplace to prepare and make both a safer place to live. |
