'Twas the Night Before an Emergency"

Story Posted: 12/17/2009 By: capru, Web site: www.colorado.gov/homelandsecurity

With the holidays on our doorstep,  the following parody helps illustrate the importance of emergency preparedness.

'Twas the Night Before an Emergency and not a creature was stirring, the community were all snug in their beds.  When what to their wondering eyes did appear, but a blizzard! The firefighters, police officers, and agencies a plenty are unable to arrive because the new fallen snow has shuttered the roads. But with a home full of supplies, and an emergency plan, our families are ready. We'll open our packs, and smile broad faced, knowing we're prepared for any event.  Our neighbors have been checked, their needs are all met, and everyone can exclaim, we survived on our own! Happy Holidays to all and to all a good night!"

...72-hour kits are excellent holiday gifts.
